10 by 10This weekly feature is for managers who don’t have time or don’t want to make time to read lengthy articles or even short paragraphs.  We call it a  Quick List.   AKA – 10 by 10 on Tuesday.   10 ( ideas or tips or questions or steps or ways to Get 2 Goal or Be a Better Manager, etc) by 10 (AM – EST) on Tuesdays.   Click here if you’d like to see all Quick Lists created to date.

This list is a companion for our Quote of the Week:  Take a Stand

What do you stand for in business?

1.   Do you stand for company goals?  Or do you fall for anything?    If so, your goals may be  a joke.

2.  Do you stand for finding the winner?  Or do you fall for anything?  Read more about winners & losers.

3.  Do you stand for taking responsibility?  Or do you fall for anything?    Hmm…maybe it isn’t your fault.

4.  Do you stand up for the customer?  Or do you fall for anything?

5.  Do you stand up for your people when a customer asks to speak to his manager?  Or do you fall for anything?

6.  Do you stand up for your people when others on the team are bad mouthing them?  Or do you fall for anything?

7. Do you stand up for your people even when they won’t or can’t?  Or do you fall for anything?

8.  Do you stand up for your boss?  Or do you fall for anything?

9.  Do you stand up for your company values?  Or do you fall for anything?

10.  Do you stand for protecting the environment?  Or do you fall for anything?

If you haven’t already done so, take some time to determine what you stand for.  What your company stands for.

Share this with all who work with you.  Make it part of new hire orientation.

It will help you make expectations clear from the start.

It will help everyone make better choices and decisions.

It will help you build productivity, morale and ultimately – the bottom line.

Instead of  falling for anything.
