Quote of the Week: Jackasses & Carpenters

They’re everywhere.    On talk shows,  blogs and message boards.   In cubicles and conference rooms.   Around water coolers and in parking lots.  People who want to complain, blame, criticize, make fun, rip apart and tear down people, policies, departments, organizations, corporations…and whatever else comes their way.   No ideas or plans for making things better – no intention of doing anything to make it so.    A bunch of jackasses kicking down barns.  Pulling the morale, productivity and performance of all around them deeper and deeper into the dump.

Do you have any jackasses on your team?

In the name of morale, productivity and performance…you know you must stop them, right?

Wouldn’t it be great if everyone on your team was helping you build barns instead of just kicking them down?

  1. Well said. People show their stupidity when they criticize without a plan for improvement. Figuring out a solution to make something better takes brain power, and many of those that make fun of something don’t have much of that. Unfortunate, there seems to be a lot of stupidity all around us these days.

    1. Hi Grace,
      Thanks for your comment.
It could be lack of brain power and it could also be lack of role models.
It seems like a good opportunity for leaders to step up and show them a better way.
