Anywhere???!!!
By: Jan BolickDo you have our morale and productivity boosting Quote of the Week posted on your computer screen? It’s actually a good one to plaster all over the walls to help everyone remember that:
- reflection is good.
- learning from mistakes is good.
- planning is good.
- analysis is good.
And then, it’s time to move FORWARD. Even the smallest step FORWARD.
A word of caution before sharing this quote with your team. Based on our interpretation, “FORWARD” is the key word here. However, some people might focus on “ANYWHERE” and take it literally.
So – when sharing it, I suggest you qualify the “anywhere” by saying something like this.
Here’s a great quote from David Livingston: ”I will go anywhere as long as it is forward.” I’d like to amend that with, ” as long as the forward movement is in the direction of our goals and in alignment with our mission and values”.
From there, you can move in to some of those questions from our earlier post today on moving forward. Questions that will help you discover what’s holding people back….and what might free them to move forward.
