Josie

Josie is a native of North Carolina.  She graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2008, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English.  While a student there, Josie:

  • volunteered through APPLES Service Learning program.
  • visited New Orleans, gutted Katrina-ravaged houses, and studied civil rights on an Alternative Spring Break trip.
  • held leadership chair position in Alpha Delta Pi sorority.
  • led Carolina Music Outreach as Vice-President and President.
  • worked as an Administrative Assistant with Business Class, Inc. 2006-2008.
  • During her first two years out of school, she taught 10th grade English through the DC Teaching Fellows Program in Washington, DC;  earned a Master of Arts in Teaching at American University (completed Summer 2010);  and became certified to teach Advanced Placement classes.

This year she is teaching AP English Language and 11th grade American Literature.

Somehow during all of that, she has managed to find some time to work with Business Class on a freelance basis – doing research, writing and assisting with website development. And we appreciate that!

Her hobbies include reading, writing, running, ballet and cooking.
