10 Potential Enemies

10 by 10 on Tuesdays

This week’s quick list* is a companion piece to our Quote of the Week for Presidents Day.

Here are 10 potential “enemies” of leaders everywhere.

1.  Unclear expectations.  Yours or theirs.

2. Unsettled complaints or disagreements.  Yours or theirs.

3.  Mistakes that are ignored or hidden.  Yours or theirs.

4.  A colleague who doesn’t like you for some reason – or for no reason at all.

5.  Negative thoughts, energy or attitudes.  Yours or theirs.

6.  Rumors.

7.  Stressful work and deadlines.  Yours or theirs.

8.  Poor discipline and/or lack of adherence to systems, policies and procedures.  Yours or theirs.

10.  Poor health or bad habits that lead to it.  Yours or theirs.

What “enemies” threaten your business?

Are you giving them the attention needed to prevent them from “posting themselves”?

If they have already taken hold, are you giving the attention needed to “dislodge them”?

Might be tough at first but the reward of a boost to morale and productivity will be worth it.

Note:   Posting quotes can prevent some of the above enemies from “posting themselves”. Here are a few examples.
