Goal/Resolution Overload?

A friend of mine invited friends over for an anti-aging social.  After mingling over refreshments for a bit, we sat and listened to some tips from a local acupuncturist.

One of the tips was on tapping.  She said it would help us avoid the need for botox for another couple of years.   All we needed to do was tap for 10-15 minutes each day.  Sounded reasonable to me.  I was willing.

When it was over,  Laura and I walked out together and she said, “Now just WHEN are we supposed to do all of this?” Read more

One year ago on this very day, I sat in the kitchen, looked at my to do list for the weekend and wanted to either scream, cry or go lay down on the sofa.

Knowing who usually steps in when Happy Hannah goes on leave, my husband wisely intervened. Read more

You are great! Feel the relief!

January 7, 2011 · Filed Under Be a Better Manager, Get 2 Goal · Comment

One of the quotes we featured for the start of a new year was:

“Take a moment to stop and think about what you give to the people and life around you. Don’t think about what you are not doing right. Look at all you do that is a blessing.

Now open to the possibility that this is not a daydream. It’s true! Believe it!”

John and Patrice Robson

Have you taken any time to think about this?  To take inventory of “all you do that is a blessing” to others…to your community…to the world?

If you haven’t already done it for yourself, what about taking a few minutes to do it over the weekend? Read more

As a take charge, make it happen leader,  you most likely have a long list of things you want to do this year.

It’s good to make such lists, sort through the choices and then prioritize so that you can to do what’s important to you.  If you don’t, someone else will do it for you.  And then all of the sudden, the year will be over and ….you’ve done nothing that was important to you.

Lots of take charge, make it happen leaders are so busy making these choices and helping their teammates do the same, that they don’t stop to think about who they are being. Read more

10 by 10 on TuesdaysArt and I were in New York last week.  On New Year’s Day,  we had the opportunity to see “Revelations“, a dance choreographed by Alvin Ailey 50 years ago.

Though we had seen it before, we both found it gripping and inspiring.  In fact, immediately after it was over,   Art  leaned over and said to me, “I just had a few revelations of my own while watching that.” Read more
