Are you gobbling up morale & productivity?
It’s hard not to nibble at it every now and then. Maybe you’ve said or done the wrong thing from time to time. Perhaps hurt someone’s feelings. Yes. I know you didn’t mean to do it.
And what about recently? What manager hasn’t HAD to do something that has taken a bite out of morale and productivity?
Hopefully you’ve been able to replenish it by doing things like showing concern and appreciation for your team members.
But some managers don’t do that. Their nibbles turn to bites. And then bigger bites. Until they have gobbled up all the morale and productivity, often chasing their team members away.
You might be smack dab in the middle of doing this without even realizing it. Matt didn’t. He still hasn’t figured it out.
One day I hope he will learn from it. Meanwhile – why don’t we?

Thanksgiving Inventory
I’ve been working on my own Thanksgiving inventory and the list is long. At the top of the list are all the people on “my team”.
The people who help make Business Class “happen”. The people who help provide all the great resources we provide for our clients. The resources we currently provide and those on the drawing board. And the people who work with us on community service projects. And the people who take care of things in other parts of our lives while we focus on the business side.
It’s a great team. They are professional, productive and fun. And they really care about what they do and doing it well.

Quote of the Week – On Dealing with Turkeys
After pursuing happiness, choosing to be happy and happier – it’d be a shame to lose it all because of a turkey or two.
Are you providing a feast for your customers or your competition?
Note: This is an important message for managers and business owners who need customers. Also helpful for managers who are concerned about morale and productivity.
In workshops on customer service, we ask participants to share stories about times they have received poor service. Every time, there are stories about:

- an inconsiderate, disrespectful or rude employee.
- staff members carrying on personal conversations instead of or while waiting on customers.
- getting “the runaround”.
- unfulfilled promises.
When asked how they responded to this service, the storytellers report saying things like, Read more
